Last night i finally went to see Thor (unfortunately not in 3d :-()  This is a beautifully done movie.  The CG is…wow, the characters are fun, the plot is good with the underlying tie in’s that are going to be incorporated into the New Avengers movie, and it’s just really good.

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) resides in the realm of Asgard.  An unfortunate decision made by Thor but influenced by his brother Loki (Tom Hiddelston) gets Thor exiled to Earth where he is to live with humans.  As Thor learns lessons from humans and falls in love with scientist Jane Foster (Natalie Portman)a new villain from Asgard becomes apparent and he finds new strength to overcome his enemy.

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddelston are rather “unknown” especially if you put them next to academy award winners Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins (Odin, Thors Father) but these two really hold their own in this movie.  The script I can only imagine was written with these two in mind because they carry the whole load.

Chris Hemsworth is pretty good at being a comic as well.  There is a scene when he is already on earth and he needs transport.  He walks into a pet store and simply asks, “I need a horse.”  The guy behind the cash register looking very confused says, “I’m sorry, we don’t have horses.  We have dogs and cats.” Thor then replies,”Fine, give me the biggest one i can ride on.”  That was freaking legendary.

If you guys haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favor and go watch this movie.  If you can watch it in 3d, even better because i hear it is awesome in 3d

Later 🙂
